Aug 06, 2015 · The Leaders of the National Association of Seadogs (NAS) a.k.a. the Pyrates Confraternity are commonly known in public as “Capoons”. The word Capoon is a slight corruption of the “Cap’n” which in turn is a slight corruption of the word “Captain”. The leaders of the international body and chapters of NAS are thus Captains, colloquially Capoons.

The National Association of Seadogs, popularly known as Pyrates Confraternity is a confraternity organization in Nigeria that is nominally University-based. The group was founded in 1952 by the “Magnificent Seven” to support for human rights and social justice in Nigeria.

Aug 06, 2015 · The Leaders of the National Association of Seadogs (NAS) a.k.a. the Pyrates Confraternity are commonly known in public as “Capoons”. The word Capoon is a slight corruption of the “Cap’n” which in turn is a slight corruption of the word “Captain”. The leaders of the international body and chapters of NAS are thus Captains, colloquially Capoons.

Speaking through the leader of the National Association of Seadogs (NAS) Soyinka “called on the authorities to leave no stone unturned in bringing to justice the perpetrators of such heinous crime” (ibid.). [NAS] also known as Pirate Confraternity, also disassociated itself from activities of “senseless and criminal gangs in the name of cultism.”
